WHISTLES, RECORDERS
Juliana is a recorder player, whistle player and vocalist specialising in folk, contemporary classical/experimental and improvised music. She is a member of contemporary folk trio Shivelights, plays for folk inspired project INNER, and is a core member of improvisatory, minimalist influenced ensemble Emergence Collective.
She studied recorders at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and has played for theatre, television and radio including the BBC and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Much of her work is inspired by nature, and focuses on using music as a form of collective communication, expression and connection.
